This is a speculative work for Chinese restaurants in India. As Indians, we perceive Chinese cuisine as being hot, sour, and spicy, characteristics of which I have depicted using visuals of a dragon breathing out flames to fire the chef's furnace who is frying noodles on a wok; We know that a dragon is also a majorly used cultural symbol of China. On the side, there is a traditionally dressed Chinese couple enjoying their served food.
These are the main stages of my design. For the line art I chose an ink textured brush to give the mural a feel of the ink line drawings as seen in comics, doodles, sketches etc. The color scheme is inspired by old, faded artworks in Asia which have gradients of a limited color palette.
